LA PINTADA RUPESTRIAN DRAWINGS 56 km (34 Miles) south of Hermosillo, there is an interesting
archeological site known as “La Pintada”. Rupestrian
drawings can be found at this place, for it once was a shelter
for Seri and Pima Indians.
CATHEDRAL OF THE ASSUMPTION IN HERMOSILLO Located on the main Plaza (Plaza Zaragoza) started its
construction in 1877 and finished on 1912, with great
inner sceneries, neoclassical facade and Caravaca crosses
on its towers and dome are a must place to visit.
LA PLAZA ZARAGOZA OF HERMOSILLO Since 1865 Plaza Zaragoza is one of the most beautiful
places in Hermosillo, with gardens. Desde 1865 la plaza

CUISINE In Hermosillo, you can try the delicious Chivichangas
made with wheat flour tortillas, the best Carne Asada
(grilled beef) in Mexico, Costa Brava shrimps, cocido
and the famous and delicious coyotas for dessert. Hermosillo
has plenty of nice restaurants, from small downtown fondas
to great International cuisine restaurants, located on

GOVERNMENT PALACE The Government Palace, headquarters of Executive Power
in Sonora, is famous for its wonderful murals portraying
historic events, as well as for the statues of General
Ignacio Pesqueira and Garcia Morales. It is located in
front of the flowery garden of the Zaragoza Square and
its Morisco kiosk.
GOBERNMENT BUILDING Sonora is the only state in Mexico that has all the government
offices gathered in this monumental building, with the
purpose of offering all the official services together
in one place.
ECOLOGICAL CENTER (ZOO) This Zoo is just south of Hermosillo and is inhabited
by white-tailed deer and Cimarron sheep among other regional
animals, including an observatory. Visiting this place
is an invitation to reflect on the importance of preserving
the planet’s flora and fauna.
TIBURON ISLAND In 1963, 120,800 has of this island situated opposite
Kino Bay (107Km far from Hermosillo) were declared a Biosphere
Reserve in order to provide protection for its birds,
including eagles, falcons, bobo birds and blue-footed
birds, as well as its animals, such as deer Cimarron sheep
and desert turtles.
SONORA MUSEUM Located on the former and very old style penitentiary
of Hermosillo. Offers visitors state of Sonora’s
history, plus ancient discoveries of Mexican ruins explanations

OF SONORA MUSEUM Located on Hermosillo’s main street intersection
of Luis Encinas Blvd. and Rosales street. There you can

HERMOSILLO ART ANF CRAFTS Seri handicrafts are legendary, produced in the village
of Kino Viejo, and located 107 km outside Hermosillo.
Make sure you visit the Museum of the Seri with its fascinating
collection of handicrafts, also located in Kino Bay. These
handcrafts are also offered on several gift shops in Hermosillo
and downtown as well.
LA SAUCEDA RECRATIONAL PARK This Recreational Park in Hermosillo is the largest one
in the state of Sonora. It offers to locals and tourists

sea bass in the lagoon of El Novillo. San Carlos and Kino

hours far from Hermosillo.
